The Recipe to Intentionality and Success
I read an article this week titled “Intentionality and Success” by Service Leadership, an organization led by Paul Dippell focusing on best practices and financial benchmarking for IT companies. The article describes how being ‘intentional’ with business goals and objectives, and standardization will increase the probability of profit and growth.
This is not the first time that I read this article, but this time, it occurred to me that these methods similarly apply to other areas of life. Personal and life goals are rarely achieved without focus and dedication around the objective.
Family
Many of life’s best moments come from spontaneous events. However, you must make time to get together with family and friends. Intentional effort to spend time with family and friends create the opportunity for these special moments.
Financial
Whether saving for retirement, college, new car, etc., the first step is to create a budget. A budget is simply an intentional plan for how to allocate your personal funds. If you can create a balanced budget and live by it, financial goals can likely be achieved.
Personal
Successful marathon runners do not just show up on race day and give it a try. Nor do they start training ahead by running 26 miles. Marathons are always an easy example, but you get the picture. Any personal goal requires an intentional plan and discipline if the goal is to be reached.
