ThinkTech Acquires Total Computer Solutions to Create Leading Central North Carolina-Based IT Services Provider.

RALEIGH, N.C., October 1st, 2025

ThinkTech Advisors and Total Computer Solutions (TCS) announced a strategic merger, effective October 2nd, that combines these two established IT service providers in North Carolina. ThinkTech is acquiring TCS and will now be known as ThinkTech Advisors.

The merger unites ThinkTech’s 25 years of managed IT service excellence with TCS’s 34-year legacy of technical innovation, creating a powerhouse of expertise serving businesses across central North Carolina.

Under the leadership of Ed Burton, CEO and Founder, and Chris Barker, COO, the combined organization will leverage nearly 60 years of collective experience to deliver enhanced IT services to small and medium-sized businesses throughout the region. The merger creates a stronger, more comprehensive IT services provider while maintaining the personalized, local support that clients of both companies have come to trust. Both the Greensboro and Raleigh offices will continue full operations, strengthening ThinkTech Advisors’ ability to provide responsive, local IT support throughout central North Carolina.

The unified company will continue to offer its expanded suite of services, including managed IT services, cloud computing, advanced cybersecurity, Microsoft 365 support and migration, virtualization, Windows Server administration, VoIP phone services, mobile device management, Wi‑Fi networks, structured cabling, and virtual CIO services. Additional offerings include proactive monitoring, backup and recovery, email and web filtering, and ransomware prevention and response.

Both organizations share a client-first approach centered on prevention, responsiveness, and practical technology planning. Clients will maintain their existing support relationships while gaining access to expanded resources and expertise. The combined team will continue serving key industries, including healthcare, construction, legal, financial services, real estate, and nonprofit organizations, helping leaders improve operational efficiency, protect sensitive data, and sustain business continuity.

“This merger strengthens our capacity to deliver reliable, proactive IT services across central North Carolina, including the Triad,” said Ed Burton. “Our teams already align on how we support SMBs. Clients will benefit from added resources and the same clear standards for responsiveness and security.”
